Category: Castle Copenhagen – admin – 9:29 am

The castle “Rosenborg Slot” is located in the district of Fredriksstaden, and was built by a Dutch Flemish architect in 1607.

It’s told that this kind of castle was the “passion house” of the Danish majesty. Rosenborg Slot has the character of a building from a fairy tale. Playful gables and towers characterizes the magic building.

The interior of the castle consists of 24 Royal rooms.

A barrack yard is located directly next to the castle. This is the area of operation for the Royal guards. An attraction for itself. Everyday at 11:30am is the mounting of the guards. The guards have to march 30 minutes through the city to the castle of Amalienborg, which is the palace of the Queen.

The castle of Rosenborg Slot is a museum since 1833. Loads of Royal exhibits can be seen. Another attraction of Rosenborg is the pleasure garden. A very nice place to relax and find some peace. King Christian IV had a lot of fun in the entwined paths of the garden.
