The first contruction works for the Dome of Copenhagen started around 1200. During the following centuries, the church was several times destroyed and rebuilt. This happened the last time at the beginning of the 19th century. English soldiers have destroyed the dome, and Copenhagens city fathers decided to build a completely new church.
Vor Frue Kirke was rebuilt in Greek-Roman style. This architecture was quite popular in those times. The dome can be found in Norregade 8.
