Stroget Copenhagen

Category: Copenhagen Street – admin – 5:34 pm

Stroget is the name of Copenhagens most important pedestrian precinct in the centre of the Danish capital. The lenght amounts more than one kilometre. Such a lenght is quite possibly record-breaking for a pedestrian precinct in Europe. Probably the longest one in Europe.

Stroget is a pedestrian precinct since 1960 and consists of different street names. The whole pedestrian zone starts at the city hall and ends at the market place called “Kongens Nytorv”.

The biggest attraction of Stroget is Scandinavias biggest shopping mall known as “Magasin du Nord”.
