Slotsholmen is an island in the centre of Copenhagen, and the place for Copenhagens first castle. The name of the district is also known in English as Castle Island.
Many bridges makes it possible, that this island is not even perceived as such, by most of the inhabitants.
Slotsholmen counts as the cradle of the Danish capital, and location of the parliament. The alleys and roads of the district are quite calm and peaceful. Restaurants, bars, and shops of the district are known to be noble. The visitor won’t find crazy shopping madness there.
