The opera of Copenhagen was a generous gift from the Danish ship owner and billionaire Maersk-Kinney Moller. He paid more than 335 Mio Euro.
The construction works for the monumental building lasted from June 2001 until January 2005. The opera has a length of 125 metres, and a height of 24 metres.

Some critical observers think the building turned too big, because the Royal Palace on the opposite looks quite small in comparison. Nevertheless such kind of naggers are the minority. The new opera is undoubtful the pride of Copenhagen.
