Nyboder Copenhagen

Category: Sights Copenhagen – admin – 8:47 am

Nyboder is a residential quarter in Copenhagens district Fredriksstaden. It was created in the 17th century for the mariners of the Royal navy.

The residential quarter was extended in the middle of the 18th century. There was not enough space anymore. The houses were raised, and more lines of houses were built.

Nowadays only one row of houses from those times survived. There is a museum included which shows the housing conditions of a Danish family around 1900.
