In 1619 Christian IV had the glorious idea to turn a little smithery into a church. Today the building is known as “Holmens Kirke”, and located in Copenhagens city centre (Holmens Kanal).
The most interesting attraction of Holmens Kirke is its pulpit. The lenght goes from the ground up to the ceiling. Therefore the pulpit of the Holmens Kirke is the biggest in Copenhagen.

The church is dedicated to Denmarks navy and the home church of the Royal family. Queen Margrethe II married Prince Hendrik there.
