Gammeltorv Copenhagen

Gammeltorv is a square in the city centre of Copenhagen, directly on the famous shopping street “Stroget”.

The most important attraction of Gammeltorv is the cheerful Caritas fountain, which was built in the beginning of the 17th century.

This special fountain counts to one of the most important monuments of the renaissance.

Gammeltorv was created to serve as a market place in the 12th century. The spot is one of the most historical places of Copenhagen.
